Historic East Portland – NEW
March 9, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Historically, the intersection of SE Grand Ave and SE Morrison St was the center of downtown “old East Portland”. East Portland was chartered in 1870 and existed as a separate city until annexation by Portland in 1891. On this tour of the East Portland Grand Avenue National Register District, we’ll explore the key commercial buildings and sites that defined the ‘other downtown’ on the east side of the Willamette River. Many of these historic late 19th century commercial buildings have been re-purposed for 21st century uses.
This 2 hour walking tour covers about 1 mile on level urban terrain.
