Historic Peninsula Park Neighborhood
May 3, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Peninsula Park (1909) was Portland’s first public Rose Garden and is the crown jewel of the city’s park system with gardens and pavilions designed in the City Beautiful tradition of landscape architecture. The neighborhood is also the site of Jefferson High School (1908), North Portland Public Library (1913), and the now vacant Mt Hood Masonic Temple (1923).
We’ll start and end the tour at the unique McMenamin’s Chapel Pub (1932) that was both a wedding chapel and funeral home! (pictured above) Optional post tour gathering for beverage and conversation.
The fee for this narrated tour is $15. You may pay by cash, check or credit card at the start of the tour. You may also use PayPal by following this link: http://bit.ly/22q0waD
